Size Does Matter

This evening I thought to myself, How can I create some sort of mobile, ultralight, and very small wireless camera setup?.

The answer was to use the parts I already had and combine them into a small box. I knew that this box would have to be large enough to house the RCA wiring, as well as a small fan I opted for to keep the transmitter cool, calm, and collective.

The Overly Complicated Box

Heat sink and Transmitter Assembly I started with two 3"x2.5" cardboard boxes that could be stacked on top of eachother. The cables were stored in the lowest section, a few of which being held down with some metal wire. There was then a small heat sink which was placed on top of a thin sheet of cardboard. The transmitter rested on the heat sink while the fan was placed off to the side. The camera and transmitter are powered together off of a 9V source while the fan is powered seperately off of a lesser voltage (and amperage, for that matter).

I screwed the camera directly on to the box lid and added duct tape around the entire device to improve durability of the flimsy cardboard. So far it seems to be working just fine, although the fan becomes too loud at higher voltages. I probably should have added a small switch to operate the fan.
