Mighty MouseApple Computer, famous for its straightforward, industrial one-button mouse design, introduced a four-button version of the wired peripheral today, dubbed "Mighty Mouse," complete with scroll "ball" and internal audible feedback.

Relying on "touch sensitive" technology, according to Apple's website, the mouse retains its seemingly one-button appearance, but gains left and right click functions. A small, rollable ball near the center serves 360 degree scrolling functions.

Left and right buttons on either side of the mouse can be customized to perform a number of tasks, including opening popular Mac OS X applications Dashboard and Expose.

"Mighty Mouse's seamless top-shell design makes it easy and comfortable to use, regardless of the size of your hand and no matter which hand you use," Apple Computer said.

It is unknown whether Apple will release a wireless Bluetooth version of this device.
